The Sustainability Research Hub exists to make UW - Madison a preeminent destination for environmental sustainability research and education by supporting innovative, large-scale, cross-cutting sustainability research on campus and beyond.
The Sustainability Research Hub (the Hub) aims to support the development of sustainability research on campus through proposal development services, network building, and resource sharing. Our team works collaboratively across campus to support faculty in all departments and disciplines.
For those seeking administrative support to pursue large grants, we offer a variety of services. With base funding from the Chancellor, the Hub provides campus-wide service without charging fees or retaining any overhead. As the Hub increases the number and size of sustainability research awards, it will also create new opportunities for undergraduate and graduate research in sustainability.
The Hub also serves as a source of connection and coordination for projects with external partners. Our staff will work closely with the University Relations and their Office of Business Engagement to help connect UW-Madison PIs with appropriate corporate, governmental, NGO, or other external partners for their proposals.
Not ready to submit a grant? Reach out and we can help you build your network and connect with others who are interested in creating a sustainable future, or join our Sustainability Experts List.
The Hub is a project of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Office of Sustainability.
