Heather brings over seven years of experience supporting research teams across the full lifecycle of externally funded research, from strategic proposal development through award management. A UW–Madison alum, she holds an M.S. in Environmental Conservation from the Nelson Institute and a Ph.D. in Comparative Biomedical Sciences, where her research focused on environmental mechanisms and conservation implications of infectious wildlife diseases.
Drawing on her background as an interdisciplinary biologist and collaborative researcher, Heather works with research teams to develop competitive, integrative research programs aligned with funding priorities and sustainability goals. She is particularly passionate about helping teams translate strong science into fundable projects that advance both research impact and long-term program success.
